It’s Almost Time

My Kickstarter Campaign starts bright and early on Monday morning! This will be the first opportunity to purchase my book, Tooth on the Loose. You will get a choice of extras such as autographed copies, a digital copy, and a Pig plushie. It’s up to you!

All my illustrations will be done early this next week. Olga has done an amazing job bringing my story to life. Arlene will start working on font choices, layout of the pages and file prep to send to the printer. This process takes about 3 weeks. Then it will be ready to send to the printer. This is where the Kickstarter and the need for your help comes into play.

How does a Kickstarter Work?

A Kickstarter allows my family, friends and anyone else who encounters my project to decide if they would like to back it. What this means is…you get the chance to be first at purchasing my book plus the additional perks I mentioned earlier. There are different reward tiers beginning at $10 and gradually increasing while adding different options. Shipping is included in almost all of the tiers. If shipping is added, I split the cost and only included the portion you would be paying. These are definitely good perks, plus it ensures that you will receive the first copies of my book before it hits Amazon. Books from the printer are a higher quality and hardback which hold up better over time.

Drawbacks

The drawback of a Kickstarter is if you don’t hit your goal, then the project does not get funded. It is an all or nothing set up. You don’t get charged until the end of the campaign and only if it is fully funded. I have set up my campaign to run for 30 days. These funds will be used to help get my books printed, pay for rewards, shipping and the Kickstarter fee. If I don’t get fully funded, I may have to delay sending the files to the printer until I have enough funds to do so.

You can help support my campaign by choosing a reward tier you are interested in; sharing my posts and encouraging your friends to take a look, and telling others by word of mouth. Thankfully, I have been able to pay for the editor, illustrator and book designer. I just need your help to get it to the printer. I’m so excited to be able to share it with all of you!

Always Rise & Shine,

Chrissy
